Ava's 3 Month Photos

New Videos...

Just 2 videos i took while we were at home today. Both kids have been sick with coughs the last few days. Aiden went to the doctors today and i started him on antibiotics. He has been enjoying a diet of pocicles and homemade jello jigglers while he is starting to feel better. Scott is away for the week til thursday for a training for work, so it has been a very long few days here with the sick kids. Ava is so mellow she can be coughing up a lung and then smile afterwards at you, she is so sweet and good natured.

Gingerbread Cookies

The kids had a blast painting and decorating the gingerbread cookies we made with Kaylee and Aiden last night . She got mad at Aiden for eating all the eyeballs--how was he supposed to know.?? LOL. For future reference though- the icing turns to concrete on everything when it dries, so beware!!

What's happening here..........

Ava is 3 months old now. Both kids went to the doctor in the last week and got all their measurements done. Ava now weighs 13.2 pounds and is 24.5 inches long. She is not rolling over yet but rolls all the way on her side-- i know it won't be long. She is perfectly content laying on her back or side. She coos all the time though and loves to get attention. We will be getting her 3 month photos soon to send out. The doctor sent her for an ultrasound to check her hips- since her fat folds were uneven- and they came back normal. We were kind of worried- since she has an extra fat fold on her one leg--she's a chubby little girl all right!!

Aiden is now 27 pounds and although they did not do his height--his home height measurement is about 33.5 inches now. Aiden is also starting to talk alot now. He says all sorts of words. "Sissy" (is what he calls Ava- since that is what we call her), "frog, Foo Foo, please, thank you, uh-oh, water, cereal, phone, tree, kitty, wow, boat, car, momma, dadda, bye-bye, hair, eye( and he about pokes my eye out when he pokes at it), Roll ( when he is teaching Ava to roll over), door, go, fork, shoes..... and lots more. It is amazing how his talking is taking off. He says thank you to everybody all the time-it is cute.

I am back to work now after a long maternity leave of 5 months total. It is going well. Aunt Melanie is doing a great job with the kids at our house while we are at work. Scott is off some days that i work too and is at home with the kids while i am at work- 6am-8pm!!. He was experimenting with nipples when i called him from work the other day.LOL... Actually he was seeing which flow nipple works best in Ava's bottle--the faster ones worked better for him. It was funny. Oh the joys of parenthood!! He says it is easy taking care of them--"a breeze". Well depends on which day you ask him. Lol..

A picnic and a hike..

Today we took a drive up to Knights Ferry, a historical landmark town. They have beautiful scenery with hiking trails bike trails and crystal clear water in the river, even though it is freezing cold!. We had a relaxing picnic when we got there. Then headed out on the hiking trail. Aiden in his car part of the time and walking the rest, and Ava in her snuggly. It was so warm and sunny i had to get out the sunblock and sunhats. We also walked through this covered bridge that was over 100 years old. Aiden was learning the skill of throwing rocks into the water and putting all sorts of stuff in his jeans pockets. He kept getting all the acorns by the handful and we had to tell him he better leave some for the squirrels to eat. We got to this one spot which was like a rocky beach and took off our shoes and socks and walked in the water. There was a patch of grass for Ava to lay on and kick around too- a little manger it looked like. She was so good- she loves going along for the ride. It is unseasonably warm for this time of year, so we are taking advantage of it. Aiden got all wet in the water and we had only an extra outfit for Ava out on the hike ( Aiden's was in the truck)--so yes you see that he has a shirt on with ruffles on the sleeves--one day we'll all appreciate looking back at this picture. Hey at least he was dry. =)

Monkeying Around

Grandpa Devers gave Aiden this monkey on his recent visit here in November, and Aiden has really taken a liking to it. It is his new favorite animal. It makes a monkey sound too if you squeeze it. He's even giving the monkey a kiss in the one picture. Thanks Papa!

This first picture was taken when Aiden was only 9 months. We called it "Aiden and Friends" since it was taken with all his stuffed animals. Anyways, I took an updated shot of Aiden and friends to show how he's changed. Some of his stuffed animals have since diappeared - like his baby bear you see in the first picture that turned up missing a while back.

Sunny Days...

Thank goodness for double strollers. =) We have been taking advantage of the nice weather here lately and walking to the park everyday this week. Ava is sitting up like a big girl in the back enjoying looking around now too. I have been putting her into the snugglie when we get to the park so i can stay mobile to chase around Aiden. i had their hats and coats on here, but after we got outside and noticed how warm and sunny it was- we took them off. It has been unseasonably warm this week here.

My how they've grown.....

Just a few old pics showing how much the kids have grown up. These were from our family reunion 2007. Looking forward to this years upcoming reunion in June!!!! Myrtle Beach here we come!! Look out for the Bilyeu and Krol boys!!And Girls.... Keep forgetting there is a girl in the mix now.
