Ava the little mommy already......

Grandpa Devers got Ava her first doll and a jogging expedition stroller ( they make all this fancy stuff for these dolls now--i had no idea). She is learning how to push her around and even gives her kisses too. She came with a baby bottle that Ava carries around sucking on too.. It is so cute to watch her learn to push the stroller. Aiden doesn't quite know what to think.

Grandpa Devers Visit August 2009

Grandpa Devers was here this whole week. In the week he got to see Ava take her first steps and starting to really walk all around now. He also got to watch the kids a whole 10 hour day while Scott and i were working- that is when the real bonding takes place.. =)He said it was a "once in a lifetime experience". haha. The kids had a fun day and even took naps at the same time for him.. Always nice . We had a very nice visit. The day he got in we went to the beach in San Francisco--and had a nice stroll there, even though it was a bit brisk. We also took the kids swimming and played at the mall one day. He says its an ordeal to go anywhere with them--he doesn't know how i take them places on my own.. haha.. We even had an adventure to Olive Garden taking them out for lunch. lets just say it ended with Ava losing all her food- throwing it all up in the lobby on me and the floor?? not sure why--but made quite a mess in their entry lobby where people were coming in to wait. I'm pretty sure they weren't begging us to come back.. Not sure what made her throw up--she hadn't been sick or anything before that KIDS...

Ava on the move...

My dad was here vi sitting this week and we took the kids to the mall for the outside water- squirts, the kids had a blast while we ordered food outside on the patio nearby. Ava even got up and went in the water! Grandpa got Ava a cute new doll and stroller for her also, so she is getting acquainted with her doll here also..She is gonna have lots of fun with that i can tell-- all our toys we have are for boys, he said she needs some girlie stuff. =)

Ava is walking!

Ava is now 10 months old and just started walking already! We can't believe how she went from barely crawling in June to walking now in August, she is so cute up on her 2 feet...Also she was helping me to clean the kitchen as you can see in the picture. She figured out how to open the cupboards on this one cupboard that the child lock obviously does not work-- to get out all the Tupperware and play with. AS you can see she is a BIG helper cleaning the kitchen.. lol

Fun in the pool....

Both kids love the blowup pools. We finally broke down and bought a second one this year after the first got a few holes in it and was no longer reusable. We are being extra careful with it this time. I figure when we are at work the sitter needs something fun for them to do besides hang inside all the time. This pool has been a hit as you can see already.

Making Little Pizzas...

We are having fun in the kitchen today. Aiden helped me make french toast for breakfast and now he is putting toppings on the pizzas. He also helped me with some dishes afterwards. he likes to be right by my side doing whatever i am doing. Scott say pretty soon he will have some chores to help out with.. He is such a good helper.=

Aiden has a new big boy bunk bed now. We found this at Ikea--they have the cutest kids stuff and very cheap prices!! we also got the moon light which Aiden can turn on at night if` he gets up so he can see if he's scared. We will either sell the old bed or use it for Ava since hers does not convert to a twin bed.

Ava is on the mend....Thanks to Dr. Elias!!

Poor Ava has been sick off and on with a fever and sore throat since Monday. She went to the doctors Tuesday and they did a throat culture and said it was probably a virus. It would take 2 days to get the culture back.Well by yesterday her fever had gotten better so i thought she was getting better. Then Scott called me on my way home from work yesterday and said she was fussy and just not herself, so i was off to take her to urgent care . I called our pediatrician Dr Elias and he said that urgent care is not for babies- it's for accidents- and that she would see a PA who would do all sorts of unnecessary tests, so he said for me to meet him at his office--at this late hour of 1:00 am!! So I met up with him and he saw us in his office at 1:00 am and sent us home with a script for antibiotics. He saved us from having to wait hours at urgent care. I am so pleased with him--he is just a great old-fashioned doctor and really does care about his patients.. obviously!! Anyways we found out today that Ava was positive for Strep throat so he switched the antibiotic -now that we know for sure. She is feeling better after just one dose.

I am posting Ava's 9 month pictures we just got back also.....

POTTY TRAINING IN PROGRESS....

POTTY TRAINING IN PROGRESS... Aiden is on day 2 of potty training. He is going almost every time in his little potty when we are at home. So far so good. Next step is the big boy regular underwear. He says"pee pee" then he runs and pees on the potty. He gets 2 gummy bears after each time. Notice he is wearing the potty watch which sings a song every hour and reminds him to go if he has to. Ask him what time it is and he'll tell you"3 O'CLOCK". I'm not sure where he got this but its funny. We have a styrofoam clock that he is learning about time on.

Both kids were engaged in some art activities tonight while i was busy cooking dinner. Aiden is painting this pot, and then we will plant a flower in it together, while Ava was busy fingerpainting with chocolate pudding...Checkout the video as well...
