Aiden the Artist.....

Scott's mom got this painting easel from her boss and they weren't using it anymore for their kids, so it got passed along to us. It even came with the roll of paper and paints and brushes too. Aiden was having a blast making his own art creation today. This one is called " Explosion of Energy". I might hang this one in our front room, since it will match our red wall. Luckily all the paints we have are nontoxic and washable. Thanks again Grandma Bilyeu!

Bathtime at the Bilyeu's

Both Ava and Aiden were enjoying their baths here at home tonight. Aiden even decided to put his feet up during his bath.. haha..

Fun in the Sun

We are having beautiful summer weather here now.I went out and got Aiden a new pool for the backyard, since ours from last summer got a hole in it. Aiden was having a blast going down the slide. I sat Ava on the side and she dipped her feet in the water too. Check out the 2 videos. One is from today, the other is from the other day when we were playing in the backyard.

CIRCUS BIRTHDAY PARTY FUN

Today was Aiden's circus birthday party. It was so much fun for all of us including the adults!!! We had balloons, popcorn, a jump house and a tent setup with toys in the backyard for the kids to play in. We even played circus music and had a candy toss. I got teased since some people had never heard of the candy toss- pinatas are more popular around here--i told them it is an Ohio thing. The kids got lots of candy though. We had ice cream cone cupcakes also that were pretty easy for the kids to eat and not make a mess. Luckily the rain held out til just after the party was over- then we got a downpour!! Boy were we lucky. Anyways wish all the other family and friends from afar could have come too. I posted many pictures on our snapfish website for those of you that wish to see more. What we think of Mom...

Thank goodness i am still in the phase of my children thinking i can fix anything and am their hero. Alot of my co-workers are raising teenagers and they tell me i have it good now. And i definitely have to agree, after hearing some of their stories. Thought I'd share this cute bit about mothers.......

MOTHERS Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it. Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox. Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids. Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets. Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up. Real Mothers sometimes ask "Why me?" and get their answer when a little voice says, "Because I love you best." Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother... The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom' s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Trying to sit up..

Ava is now 5 months old. She is rolling all around and trying to sit up all the time. She tries to do a sit-up whenever she is laying down. She still is wobbly when you prop her- so it will be a bit before she will do it on her own. Next month we will be getting the highchair out to start some baby food once she is 6 months.

Hottub Party......

Ava took her first dip in the hot tub the other night. We turned down the temperature a bit so it wasn't too hot for her. She did not like her little boat to float in-she wanted mom to hold her. She's quite a mommas girl. I got to dress her up in her oh-so cute ruffles swim suit and sunhat...Aiden was doing circles around us the whole time- jumping off the ledges into the water. Scott was making dinner on the grill -so he didn't get in with us. Next time though.

Family Day at the park.......

Enjoying some sunshine at the park in the neighborhood. It is warm but sort of windy today. Ava took a spin on the swing and Aiden was trying out his new tricycle he got for Christmas.

Out and About........

Enjoying a trip to the park. It is still chilly here , but we still get out and about. The sunshine can be deceiving, although it is warming up the next few days.. yeah!!

Favorite Quotes..

I made my first homemade calendar for my mother-in-law for her birthday and i ran across some of my favorite quotes. Thought i'd share....

“Children can change the world.”

"A grandmother is a baby-sitter who watches the kids instead of the television."

"Blessed be the ties that bind generations."

"A child is the greatest joy,the ultimate Blessing"."

“Children are the keys of paradise.”

"A child is a person who is going to carry on what you started. He or she is going to sit where you are sitting and when you are gone, attend to the things which you think are important. The fate of humanity is in his or her hand."

""Sometimes its the smallish things that take up the most room in our hearts.”

"A sister is a forever friend. ~Author Unknown"

"Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.”

"There's a little cowboy in all of us, a little frontier.”

"I hope you always have a shell in your pocket...and sand in your shoes.”

Before you were conceived I wanted youBefore you were born I loved youBefore you were here an hour I would die for youThis is the miracle of life.

"It's funny that those things your kids did that got on your nerves seem so cute when your grandchildren do them"

The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from a sleeping child

As we reflect on days gone by, we learn that it's the shared moments and simple pleasures that matter most of all.

We do not remember days; we remember moments.

Rolling over now..

Ava is now rolling over both ways now. Check out the most recent video of her.

Little Clown..
